2022 elections: Roundup of who’s running in Orange County’s new House, state Senate and Assembly districts

New candidates continue to jump into the June primary for local state and House seats, with incumbents shuffling around and fresh faces emerging in the aftermath of California’s Citizens Redistricting Commission having finalized new boundaries for every political district.

So far, there are at least 58 candidates vying for one of six newly drawn Congressional seats, five state Senate seats and nine Assembly seats that are up for election this year. Candidates have until March 11 to file formal declarations to run for office.
